YERBA MATE TOOLS
Traditional styles of consuming yerba mate require three tools: bombilla, gourd, and of course the yerba.
Bombilla - This is the 'straw' in which you drink your mate from. This tool comes in many different designs. The bottom end of the bombilla is designed so that the loose leaf tea does not enter causing unwanted gunk in the mouth.

Types: spoon, fan/pick, screw, coil, bamboo, ball/balloon
Gourd- This is the 'cup' in which you drink your mate from. This tool also comes in many different designs. Traditionally, the gourd is hollowed out from calabash squash which has a very hard shell. The gourd is cured before use.

Yerba mate- This is the loose leaf tea that is consumed. Yerba mate is grown in Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Each tea has it's own unique flavors.
