Oh, are you from New York?

Our world is not limited to the big cities, national monuments and treasures, or natural wonders. Our cultures, histories, life-styles and interactions make this a wonderful place!

I know that many travelers and expats from the United States have had this very conversation multiple times.

A: Hi! Where are you from?

B: I'm from America.

A: Ohhh... New York? California?

With a polite smile and shake of the head, we gently reply... No.

Our countries are more than just big cities

I am certain that people know there are more states and cities than just the ones that make the headline news. But, it seems many never stop to ask about those places. Do they not care? Are those places less important? Is America just America??? There are plenty of stereotypes placed upon Americans (or anyone for that matter). I want to explore our wondrous world and share stories of those all around it so we can all learn something and have more to talk about when we encounter each other.
